Royal Holloway
College, just outside London, is the venue for an
exciting residential soccer school for both teams
and players.
It will not
only provide players with the facilities and quality
of coaching they expect, but will form the building
blocks for their future careers both on and off the
field.
Our programme of coaching under the
expert eyes of coaches from Arsenal Football
Club’s Community Programme,
will give each player the opportunity to develop his
or her skills in a challenging but friendly
environment.
Combined
with the soccer is the chance to see all the sites
associated with London with the added bonus of watching
professional matches in the country that is the heartland of
the game as we know it today.
All
participants will receive one
(1) complete playing kit and a camp ‘T’ shirt.

SESSION
DESCRIPTION
DETAILS
1
RECEIVING & CONTROLLING THE BALL
Players would be
taught such skills as: Cushion control, Wedge control,
awareness of space, The Cruyff turn, step over, drag back
and many more.

SHORT RANGE PASSING
As well as the
technique of the short pass players will learn how to pass
to feet, pass into space behind defenders, together with
disguise, pass selection, timing, weighting and accuracy.

LONG RANGE PASSING
This session covers
the driven pass, the lofted pass, the volley and the chip
pass.

RUNNING WITH THE BALL & DRIBBLING
Running with the
ball and dribbling are different techniques, which are used
in different circumstances. Players will be taught the basic
skills and when and where to use them.

CROSSING & FINISHING
Crosses are a
very effective weapon in the football armoury and players
will be instructed in their use. Finishing is what the
game is all about and players will learn all aspects, from
shooting and heading to volleys and half volleys.

DEFENSIVE PLAY
The art of defending will be taught
to all players to emphasise the fact that every player has
defensive responsibilities wherever they are on the pitch.

ATTACKING PLAY
Again, all
players will be shown the skills of attacking play in order
that wherever they play they will have an understanding of
the objectives of the game.
GOALKEEPING
Goalkeepers will have
specialist sessions every day.
